We all would like to think that a strong, productive, and healthy workplace environment fosters a healthy level of collaboration between colleagues and coworkers. However, that kind of exchange must, at the very least, feel relatively 50/50. Of course, someone with more experience should feel some responsibility for showing someone else the ropes, but that was clearly not the case here.

In this scenario, the coworker was just lazy and refused to take on all the work in undoing a faulty payment cancellation herself. It's obvious that she had done this kind of thing before, not only because of the author's reaction but also due to her “expert” phrasing. By using “we” language in her communication with team members, she tried to make this seem like a collective issue that everyone needed to work through together. The truth of the matter, however, was that it was a personal mistake that merely required individual accountability. Good luck, girl! Figure it out yourself!
